Clarity Enhanced Diamonds?
When a diamond’s clarity is enhanced, it means that the diamond’s imperfections—its inclusions and blemishes—are removed or corrected using mechanical or chemical processes. Experts commonly use one of two methods: laser drilling and fracture filling.
NOTE: a certificate of a CE diamond will show memtion "Clarity Enhancement", which will refer to one or both out of Laser Drilling and Fracture FillingÂ
Laser drilling is a process used to correct dark inclusions within a diamond. As the name implies, a laser is used to drill a microscopic tunnel from the surface of the diamond to the target inclusion. How is the inclusion removed? Either the laser itself will burn the inclusion, or the tunnel will be used to funnel acids that would dissolve the inclusion. The tunnels themselves are permanent, but they are not visible to the naked eye and do not affect the brilliance of the now-enhanced diamond. The clarity rating of a diamond that has undergone this process may improve by one or two grades.Â
Fracture filling, on the other hand, is a process used to correct minute fractures in the diamond called feathers. As the name implies, fractures in the diamond are filled with molten glass in order to make them less visible. The clarity rating of a diamond that has undergone this procedure may improve by one up to three(!) grades.

Clarity Enhanced Diamonds
We now return to our original question: What are clarity enhanced diamonds? Clarity enhanced diamonds are diamonds whose clarity was previously affected by inclusions or blemishes that have since been corrected using processes like laser drilling or fracture filling. Because of these processes, the brilliance of the diamonds is improved, and the rating of the stone in clarity grading systems may even increase.
Clarity enhanced diamonds are excellent options for buyers because these diamonds tend to be more affordable. And yet, because of the enhancement process, buyers end up acquiring a product whose quality exceeds its prescribed price. Furthermore, clarity enhanced diamonds are natural and not synthetic. A buyer, therefore, is getting the real thing at a more accessible price point.

And lastly, some numbers:Â
- Approx. 92-98% of all the diamonds in the world possess a clarity grade of SI and less.
- Approx. 98% of all SI diamonds are 100% clean to the naked eye.
- Approx. 60% of all I diamonds are 100% clean to the naked eye.
- Clarity Enhanced diamonds can cause an improvement by a factor of 3 in the clarity grade, while the price is lower by a factor of 2 relative to a non-enhanced identical diamond.
- Each year, 6-7 figures in USD worth of jewelry set with clarity enhanced diamonds are sold. This figure grows by the year.Â

Most of our jewelry is made to order. Please allow 10-14 business days to complete the making of your piece. Once it is ready, we will produce a shipping label with either FedEx or DHL (FedEx mostly). You will have the tracking number immediately. Once FedEx or DHL picks up your package, they will deliver it within 5-10 business days to most parts of the world.
All shipments are the quickest FedEx or DHL has to offer.Â
All shipments are fully insured and sign-required.
We do not ship to P.O boxes.
USA customers may need to fill out the 5106 form stating to their local customs that they were the ones to make the order. It takes only 2 minutes to fill.

Diana Rafael is not responsible in any way for Customs charges/import Fees. Please note that Diana Rafael is unable to guarantee delivery time for international orders due to local Customs procedures and other formalities beyond our control.
US customers enjoy 0% Customs and Federal Import charges. State taxes may apply. Please refer to your local courier's office.Â
April 15th. 2025 Update - President Trump has applied a 10% tariff on all physical goods going in the USA with 10% for a time period of 90 days.Â
This means you may be subjected to pay a total of 10% to US Customs once your items are delivered. Diana Rafael and its employees have nothing to do with this and carry no liability for any payment that was either made or is demanded from you by any US authority.Â
Return Policy -Â
We offer a 30-day return policy, so our customers can purchase with confidence, knowing they will have sufficient time to return if they are not completely satisfied. If any problem arises, please contact us at customercare@dianarafael.com and let us know, and we will find a solution.
You should let us know of your intention to return your item within 14 days and ship it back within 30 days of receiving your item.Â
If your return/exchange is approved, Diana Rafael will issue a return shipping label with DHL and email it to you. Please do not issue a shipping label independently. Once you receive your return shipping label you should pack the item safely in its original jewelry box, wrap it up with bubble wrap & tape, and place it in its original box and tape again. Please attach the shipping label to the larger box.Â
If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, you can return the item for a refund minus shipping, handling, and restocking fees which are $300 of the total price of your order.
If you choose to exchange an item due to a manufacturing defect or damage, there will be no additional costs for shipping and handling of the item.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but 18k rings, rings in sizes 9 US and over, or size 4 US and below, and personalized or custom orders of all kinds aren't eligible for returns for a refund.
There are no returns or cancellations on items purchased on a 10% + discount.Â
Custom or personalized items can't be returned or exchanged.
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, we can't accept returns for custom or personalized items.
Items bought ready to ship, with customization (gold color replacement, carat weight change, main diamond exchange, or any alteration of the ring) will not be refundable- EXCHANGE ONLY
Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
You will receive a full refund minus shipping, handling, and restocking fees which are $300 of the total price of your order.
This applies as long as your wish to return the item has been expressed within the proper time frame, and the item was recieved back in Diana Rafael's location exactly how it left it.Â
Custom Orders
Custom-made jewelry is not eligible to free returns but is eligible for exchanges within 30 days from delivery.Â
Terms and conditions
Diana is obligated to deliver every item as described and specified on the website. All diamonds are natural earth mined diamonds (unless mentioned otherwise) purchased on various diamond exchanges around the world from authorized diamond dealers and jewelers.
Item set with man-made / lab-grown diamonds will be marked accordingly.
Pricing
Pricing errors may happen due to technical or human error reasons. In any case, Diana Rafael holds the right to cancel an order of such an item. Notification regarding the cancelation will be sent to the buyer. In case the order was already shipped the buyer must either return the item or pay the price differences.
Visibility
The appearance (size, colors, details, resolution) of photos on the website may change with all types of screens. Therefore, some of the jewelry may appear smaller or bigger than its actual size. There is no way to make sure that the picture will represent the size and/or color and/or clarity of all stones and/or jewelry. All Carat weights are accurate within the range of 0.03 carat.
Conflict-Free Diamonds
All of Diana Rafael's diamonds suppliers are WFDB membered companies and abide by the standards and regulations of the Kimberly Process. The international standard tries to ensure that the traded diamond's origin will be conflict-free.
Property
all images, designs, logos, names, policies, sounds, videos, data, graphics, other files (collectively, "Site Materials") are the exclusive property of Diana Rafael Jewelry. No use of any kind is allowed to anyone and/or any entity worldwide without the explicit and written permission of Diana Rafael Jewelry.
Privacy PolicyÂ
Diana Rafael will never share/send/sell/giveaway/trade your personal information and/or purchase history with any person and/or business. We are committed to protecting your privacy online. The information we gather will be only use for Diana Rafael's commercial purposes, conditioned with your consent. We reserve the right to change the Privacy Policy at any time. Such changes will be notified to all clients by email. Your continued use of the site after such modifications will constitute your: (a) acknowledgment of the modified Policy; and (b) agreement to abide and be bound by the modified Policy
Diana Rafael's jewelry care program applies to all gems (diamonds among others), the jewelry in which they are set in, and labor.
Cases in which you Jewelry care won’t apply
- You didn’t notify us immediately about your need for repair.
- Indications of other authority were in-touch with your item were detected.
- Indications that the damage was not a manufacturing defect or was caused by natural causes were detected.
If your item shall suffer damage of any kind, you will ship your item to a designated address. Once we receive your item, we will inspect the nature of the damage, determin how it was caused and share our conclusions.Â
Any manufacturing defect and/or cracks and/or breaks and/or weakening and/or other damage of manufacturing causes will be repaired rapidly by Diana Rafael FREE OF CHARGE, including shipping charges. This will apply for the lifetime of your item.Â
Please note, manufacture damags should present themselves within a few days of delivery. We will only accept manufacturing defects claims made within a reasonable timeframe.Â
Any damage that does not originate in manufacturing, quality of labor, will be fixed at a pre-set cost. Every situation will be priced accordingly. The customer will also bear shipping costs.Â
We at Diana Rafael are responsible for our customer's satisfaction and here-by commit to FAIR COSTS for every service call. Â
Diana Rafael Jewelry Care Program includes:Â
- Yearly cleaning and polishing (customer will bare turnaround shipping costs)

*Please note that slight irregularities and variations in craftsmanship or natural characteristics, or internal inclusions, visible or otherwise, in colored gemstones are unique and individual to each item.
